This is the common area of the hostel where we stayed. It was so nice...and only $40 a night for a room with A/C! Posted by Picasa

This church, dedicated to San Francisco, or Saint Francis, was made out of adobe a looooong time ago. The church was built over two tombs, one of an ancient pagan shaman, and another of a Spanish soldier. You can still see their bones encased in glass in the floor. Posted by Picasa

We also checked out some of the local churches. Here's the altar from one of them. Posted by Picasa

These are some paintings by local artists we got to see at the cultural center in Granada. Posted by Picasa

We checked out some museums in Granada. These clay pots were used to contain the ashes of the dead in pre-Columbian times. Pretty crazy. Posted by Picasa

The moto ride was fun, but we couldn't find the passport in Gigante, so we had to head to Managua to apply for a new one. On the way there, we stopped in Granada, the oldest colonial city in the Americas for a few days. Here's the central park and main cathedral. Posted by Picasa

Well, we had planned to head to Monteverde, in Costa Rica, last week to spend a few days and renew our visas at the border, but someone (ahem) lost his passport. We thought maybe said party left it out in Gigante, so Dale loaned us a moto to head out to try and find it. Here's me, looking badness before we set off. Posted by Picasa

We got some BIG swell about a week ago. So big that even the bay at Gigante was blowing up. Here's Ashton surfing a little left with some of the local kids. Posted by Picasa
