Working Vacation in a Third World Nation

Tales (and photos) of life in Nicaragua.

Along the way we met a friend. This little dog led us the entire 10 miles to the waterfall at the end of the trail, so we named her "Guia," which means guide in Spanish. At the end of the hike, she didn't really want to go home, so we bought her a bag of food and tried to sneak away. Again, no dice. Then we tried another tactic: giving her away. But when we approached a local blacksmith and asked if he would like to keep her, he informed us that she is an animal del bosque, or an animal of the forest. In the end she was chased away by a bigger animal of the forest, but this is one pup to remember. Posted by Picasa
