Working Vacation in a Third World Nation

Tales (and photos) of life in Nicaragua.

Saturday, July 01, 2006

In Nicaragua nothing goes to waste. The stuff that gets chucked as garbage in America may still have three or four lifetimes left here.

Take this surfboard, for example. This was a board Ashton brought when he came last summer and subsequently broke in half. He had just planned to throw it away but instead gave it to some people in Gigante. They put it back together with boat resin and still surf on it to this day. Think about that next time you take out the trash.

Holding the board is former Capitan Zack. I say former capitan because he sunk two boats last season and got fired. Rock on, Zack!Posted by Picasa
